The JET 9 anchors the [R]Evolution of Niner’s trail bikes. Knowing that technologies and rider expectations have changed over the years, they’ve put a lot of time, energy, and research into creating the most versatile and fun-to-ride full suspension mountain bike money can buy.
The JET 9 is constructed using RDO Carbon Compaction to produce the ultimate lightweight trail-worthy machine. It features Niner’s patented CVA suspension design, delivering 120mm of plush, efficient rear travel, and is designed around a maximum 140mm travel fork. The JET 9’s geometry has been revised and optimized for modern trail riding, with overall dimensions that lean toward longer reach on the frames paired with shorter stem lengths for quicker steering input. Likewise, the chainstays have been shortened down to 434mm for fast acceleration and some playful pop. But to keep the overall feel of the bike well rounded and to ensure efficient climbing and pedaling, Niner steepened the seat tube angle, which keeps you centered in the bike and able to stay on top of your gear when you’re putting down the power. The JET 9’s Constant Varying Arc (CVA) suspension platform Niner engineered and patented years ago remains the linchpin for their full suspension bikes and really gives the JET its legs. But how can this technology keep pace with the ever-changing standards in today’s mountain bike world? Unlike so many suspension systems out there that are based on optimal chainring-to-pivot point configurations, CVA relies on counteracting linkage forces that result in the only outlet for pedal force turning the rear wheel, which is exactly what you want. Put simply, CVA’s efficiency can help any rider go farther, faster and have more fun.
The JET 9 features boost spacing for optimum power transfer and wheel stiffness, internal dropper post routing for clean frame lines clean, and a threaded bottom bracket for ease of maintenance. With Niner’s [R]Evolution geometry at its core as well as 29-inch or 27.5-inch plus compatibility, the JET 9 is a perfect mid-travel trail bike for today’s aggressive trail riding.
